Hamlin Lovell, Contributing Editor
Hamlin Lovell has been Contributing Editor of THFJ since 2010 and has worked in the hedge fund industry since 2003. He maintains some involvement in the hedge fund industry, researching funds for outsourced research provider, Tomlinson Research. Between 2011 and 2013 Hamlin was co-portfolio manager for IMQubator in Amsterdam, which allocated to early stage hedge funds with funding from Europe's largest pension fund, APG. Previously, he co-managed a fund of hedge funds for Millennium Global Investments in London between 2005 and 2009. Prior to that Hamlin carried out due diligence for two multi-family offices. His first journalistic job was researching and writing about UK equities for independent research provider, IDEAGlobal. Hamlin started his career as a UK Government economist in the Department of Social Security, having graduated in Economics from the University of Leicester. Hamlin is a CFA charterholder, CAIA charterholder and holds the FRM designation. He has graded CFA and CAIA examinations in the United States, and contributed to CAIA Curriculum development. Hamlin sits on the London Chapter of the CAIA Association, and helps to organise educational and social events. He is a British national who travels extensively, and especially in Europe.
