Aspect Capital (Aspect), the $6bn systematic investment manager, has promoted Anna Hull to Chief Risk Officer and to the Board.

In her new role, Anna will continue to have responsibility for the oversight of investment and operational risk across the business, as well as now playing a greater role in determining and executing the company’s strategic plans.

Anthony Todd, CEO of Aspect, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Anna to the Board and congratulate her on her new role as Chief Risk Officer. She brings both experience and insight to Aspect’s Board as we take the company forward in 2017 and beyond. Anna has nearly 20 years' experience in the quantitative investment industry. Her track record, expertise and collaborative style will be invaluable as we continue to build our business.”

Based in Aspect’s London headquarters, Anna was previously Director of Risk and in charge of Aspect’s Risk team, which is responsible for the oversight of all market, model and operational risks across Aspect. Prior to becoming Director of Risk, she was Aspect’s Director of Product Management, where she led the team in its role of providing transparency and quantitative expertise to Aspect’s clients.

Before joining Aspect in 2008, Anna was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Old Mutual Asset Managers from August 2004 to May 2008 and a Senior Portfolio Manager at Northern Trust Global Investments from January 2003 to July 2004.

Anna Hull commented: “It’s an exciting time to join the Board. Aspect’s focus on evolving our investment strategies has always made my role fascinating and rewarding. And the development of our new systematic programmes is equally exciting. I look forward to helping determine and execute our strategic plans while further strengthening the company’s risk management capabilities.”
