SCP Investment, LP, a San Francisco Bay Area based alternative asset management firm, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Isaac R. Souede as Chairman and Chief Global Strategist. Mr. Souede joined the firm as of 1 May 2017 and will be based in New York.
Mr. Souede, who was most recently Chairman and Chief Investment Strategist at EnTrustPermal, will work alongside SCP founder and CIO, Sandy Colen. Mr. Souede will be principally focused on his role as Chief Global Strategist and will manage a segregated portfolio expressing his top down views using stocks and ETFs.
SCP is a hybrid alternative asset manager, offering a fund which invests in a select group of equity and credit hedge funds, as well as in direct equity and credit securities. This fund is available to US and non-US investors. SCP was founded in 2016 by Sandy Colen, the former founder and CIO of Apex Capital, together with Kara Dille, the former CFO and COO at Apex Capital. The firm currently manages over $300 million, a substantial portion of which is family office capital of Mr. Colen and Mr. Souede.

Isaac R. Souede previously spent 30 years at EnTrustPermal (formerly Permal Group) lastly as Chairman and Chief Investment Strategist. He was largely responsible, in his various roles as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, for the creation of the investment processes and the growth of the business from $450 million dollars to $20+ billion when it was sold to Legg Mason in 2005. Permal Group was merged with Entrust in 2016. Mr. Souede holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BA from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
