GBBC Opens In China

March, 2017

The Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) announces three days of celebratory conferences in Beijing and Shanghai surrounding the opening of its China chapter. These events follow the GBBC’s formal launch in January, during the Annual World Economic Forum Meeting in Davos, Switzerland and the U.S. opening in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.

The Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) brings together the world’s leading businesses and business leaders to highlight the latest innovations and advances in Blockchain technology. The GBBC educates business leaders on Blockchain technology, provides a forum for businesses and technology experts to collaborate on Blockchain-based business solutions, supports businesses interested in implementing Blockchain technology in their operations and advocates for the global adoption of the technology.

The roster of speakers for the GBBC China launch events includes Liu Mingkang, Distinguished Fellow at the Institute of Global Economics and Finance and former Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission; Hernando de Soto, world-renowned economist; Madame Xiaoling Wu, Vice Chairwoman of Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of National People's Congress; Wang Wei, Founding Chairman of China Mergers and Acquisitions Association (CMAA); Yew Kiat Phang, Vice Chairman & CEO of Credit China; Valery Vavilov, CEO of the Bitfury Group; Yulu Chen, Deputy Governor of the People's Bank of China; Yongqiang Sheng, Vice-President of Shanghai High People's Court; Niall Ferguson, Scottish Historian and Professor; Bill Tai, Co-Founder of MaiTai Global; and many others.

“The blockchain is so much more than the technology underpinning cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin – it is an unmatched tool to enhance finance and expand our global economy”, said Valery Vavilov, CEO of The Bitfury Group. “We are grateful to have this incredible forum to celebrate the GBBC’s presence in China.”
