LOIM appoints Bruce Turner

Lombard Odier Investment Managers has appointed Bruce Turner to manage an alternative healthcare portfolio. Turner will be based at LOIM’s New York subsidiary and will report to Aziz Nahas, limited partner and chief investment officer.

“Healthcare is an important sector within our multi-strategy fund and we are delighted to have Bruce’s scientific as well as financial background on board,” said Nahas. “This is a sector in which experience of managing money married with scientific insight are immensely helpful. His abilities complement the systemic and scalable investment processes we have put in place that focus on truly fluid capital allocation and preservation.”

Turner previously worked as a Portfolio Manager at Diker Management, First Manhattan Co, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he ran a global health care fund. Since 1998 he has held the post of Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Pathology at Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Turner is the author of over 20 medical publications and is considered an international authority on the treatment of breast cancer.
