The Partners of Mirabaud & Cie, banquiers privés have announced the appointment of Camille Vial, head of Portfolio Management for private clients, as a Partner. Thierry Fauchier-Magnan will retire from the Managing Partners at the end of the year and Yves Mirabaud will take over from him as Senior Partner on that date. Vial will assume her position as Partner on 1 January 2012.
Vial, the daughter of Thierry Fauchier-Magnan, joined Mirabaud in 2001, after obtaining a Master in Mathematics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne with a special focus on digital analysis and mathematical modelling. She initially took an interest in hedge fund selection, macroeconomic analysis and human resources, before going on to work for the institutional management and brokerage units of the Mirabaud office in London. She then rounded off her experience with analyst positions at Lloyd George Management and Tim Tacchi International. On her return to Geneva at the end of 2007, she took charge of Portfolio Management.
Fauchier-Magnan joined Mirabaud in 1979, became a Partner in 1981, and was appointed Senior Partner in 2010. At his initiative, Mirabaud modernised the running of its top management, setting up an Executive Committee in 2000. He subsequently chaired this committee for ten years. Fauchier-Magnan will remain a Limited Partner of Mirabaud, while Yves Mirabaud will take up the position of Senior Partner.
“Camille Vial has cutting-edge knowledge and skills in the field of finance, especially in financial management, analysis and modelling. As a descendant of the Mirabaud family, she is imbued with the tradition and experience accumulated by her predecessors. We have full confidence in her and we can only celebrate her appointment, ” says Yves Mirabaud, a Partner and Member of the Executive Committee.
“ This decision should also be understood as a strong message to our clients and the financial community : Mirabaud nurtures a spirit of continuity, which is of key importance in our areas of activity. Given the strong progress of our business and the need to maintain structures in relation to our growth, the appointment of a talented young person makes sense,” added Thierry Fauchier-Magnan, Senior Partner at Mirabaud, and father of Vial.
