Kinetic Partners has announced the appointment of David Nowell to its regulation and compliance team in London.
Nowell has over 20 years’ financial services experience on both sides of the regulatory fence, having worked previously for the FSA, Reuters and Credit Suisse. At Credit Suisse, he was Transaction Reporting Manager, responsible for ensuring compliance across all aspects of the reporting process and advising on new regulatory requirements.
Prior to this, Nowell was a Technical Specialist within the Transaction Monitoring Unit at the FSA, where he was responsible for shaping the transaction reporting rules and providing guidance to UK firms. Nowell commented: “I am delighted to be joining Kinetic Partners’ highly respected regulation and compliance division, particularly at a time when the compliance practices of many firms are under the spotlight. Understanding and adapting to new policy, particularly around recent developments with the Alternative Instrument Identifier implementation and OTC derivatives, will be a significant challenge to firms and I look forward to building on the impressive expertise of the team to best advise our clients in this area.”
Julian Korek, Founding Member of Kinetic Partners, commented: “David is widely acknowledged as the foremost expert in transaction reporting and has superlative experience. In light of the increasing regulatory pressures our industry faces, we are totally committed to offering the best possible service in regulation and compliance issues. David’s hire is testament to that commitment and his appointment further strengthens our growing Regulation and Compliance group.”
