As part of a series of strategic growth initiatives, compliance and regulatory industry veterans Jeannie Lewis and Bryan Morris will join Deloitte’s Asset Management Services’ governance, risk and regulatory practice. April Lemay, principal, Deloitte & Touche LLP will assume leadership of the team.

Morris joins Deloitte from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission where he served as a professional accounting fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant, Division of Investment Management since 2007. From 2006 until 2007, he was an assistant chief auditor in the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board’s Office of the Chief Auditor. Morris began his career in 1999 with Deloitte & Touche LLP.
“With the passing of Dodd-Frank, inspection sweeps of private funds, and a separate asset management unit formed in its Enforcement Division, the SEC has made it clear that the asset management industry is taking precedence,” says Cary Stier, vice chairman, Deloitte LLP and asset management services leader. “Fund managers and their service providers must not only rise to this challenge – they must do so quickly. Deloitte continues to be well-positioned to meet emerging demands while maintaining its tradition of nimble, responsive and customized service. Every client is a priority and right now their priority is meeting the challenges caused by the mercurial regulatory landscape.”
