Rexiter Capital Management names new CEO

Rexiter Capital Management, the London-based specialists in emerging markets and Asian investments, and an affiliate of State Street Global Alliance, LLC, has named Christopher Vale as its chief executive officer, effective 1 January 2011. Subject to regulatory approval from the UK Financial Services Authority, Vale, who serves as Asian chief investment officer, will succeed Kenneth King, Rexiter’s chairman and founder, upon his retirement at year end. Vale will also retain his responsibilities as Asian chief investment officer.

Jared Chase, a senior managing director at State Street Global Advisors and chairman of State Street Global Alliance, a strategic venture partnership between State Street Global Advisors and Dutch Pension Fund, Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP, will assume the role as chairman of Rexiter and retain his position as chairman of Global Alliance.

We are delighted to appoint Chris, who has worked alongside Ken since Rexiter’s inception 13 years ago, and who has deep experience in Asian and emerging markets investments, as his successor.”

With 25 years of investment experience, Vale began his career managing Asian funds at Kleinwort Benson Investment Management, where he ultimately led KBIM’s Asian team and was subsequently named a director. After 12 years with KBIM, Vale joined Rexiter in 1997 as a founding director, where he has played an instrumental role in the company’s growth. He served as managing director and helped to establish the company’s Seoul office in 1998. He is also chairman of Rexiter’s Singaporean subsidiary.

Prior to joining SSgA, Chase held a variety of senior management roles in Global Markets and Treasury at JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.
