Merrill Lynch Wealth Management has announced the appointment of Tom Wicks as a portfolio manager within Merrill Lynch Portfolio Managers. Wicks will be based in London and report to Simon Miles, head of MLPM.

In his new role, Wicks will manage the portfolios of high and ultra high net worth clients, working closely with the Wealth Structuring and Advisory teams to provide the best solutions for clients. MLPM provides clients with discretionary management and independent investment leadership.

Wicks joins from Neos Capital where he was a fund manager. Prior to this, he worked at New Star Asset Management as an US equities investment manager responsible for North America Equity portfolio management. Wicks previously worked at HSBC Investment Management as a senior investment manager looking after off-shore private client portfolios.
