SSgA adds Head of ETFs, Asia-Pacific

State Street Global Advisors has announced the appointment of Frank Henze to a newly-created role, head of Exchange Traded Funds, Asia Pacific.

Based in Hong Kong, Henze has oversight of SSgA’s regional ETF expansion strategy, with a focus on increasing the size and visibility of SSgA’s range of SPDR® ETFs in Asia Pacific. He reports to Bernard Reilly, head of SSgA’s business in Asia Pacific and James Ross, senior managing director and global head of Exchange Traded Funds at State Street Global Advisors.

“Frank’s addition to the growing ETF team in the region is a significant sign of our dedication to expanding this business,” said Reilly. “His vast experience in strategic planning and product development will drive the expansion of our ETF team as well as our SPDR product footprint in Asia Pacific, and we’re excited to have him on-board.”

Ross added: “As the pioneer of ETFs in Asia-Pacific we are committed to meeting investor needs with the addition of high-quality SPDR products. It is our goal to match State Street’s tremendous distribution footprint in Asia with tailored SPDR ETF service and support.”

Henze joins SSgA from HSBC where he was responsible for Global ETF Product Development. Prior to this experience, he spent five years with iShares in Europe, where he last served as European head of Product Development.
