The Alken Team has announced its latest product offering, the Alken Absolute Return Europe Fund, which is due to launch in January 2011.
The Alken Absolute Return Europe Fund is a UCITS III long-short European Equity fund. This fund aims to grow capital aggressively over the medium term by capturing alpha on both long and short trades in the European equity markets. It will have a gross equity exposure of 50% to 150% whilst hedging market risk by making use of futures when necessary.
Alken’s fund manager Nicolas Walewski currently manages the firm's Alken European Opportunities fund which since its inception in 2006 has posted a return of 15.1% while its benchmark STOXX Europe 600 NR index has fallen 4.6% over the same period.
