Atrato Advisors, the hedge fund consulting boutique, has appointed two new research professionals to support its expanding client roster. Michael Boensch, formerly of Gleacher Fund Advisors, joined Atrato as a Vice President earlier this year. Boensch, who also worked at multi-family office CSM Capital Management, brings over five years of research experience to the firm. More recently, Atrato brought Danny Santos on board, adding operational depth to its research bench. Santos, who had interned at Atrato while attending business school, previously worked at Private Client Resources LLC, a financial reporting and analytics specialty firm.
The new hires at Atrato signal continued growth at the hedge fund advisory shop. The firm has landed several new mandates in recent months, predominately in the family office and independent wealth advisory space. Among the new assignments for Atrato are a pair of significant U.S.-based clients -- a $2 billion independent wealth management firm and a $1.3 billion multi-family office. Atrato, led by partners Brian Reich and Janna Sobolev, has focused heavily on the private wealth hedge fund advisory model, working with fiduciary advisors to augment existing analytical abilities in the alternatives space, developing more robust open-architecture offerings, and providing custom-built solutions to high-net-worth investors.

“We're thrilled to be the in position to build out our team with smart, dedicated, and highly analytical research professionals,” says Reich, Atrato’s President. “Mike and Danny make us better on all fronts, improving our research output as well as responsiveness to a demanding set of clients," he added. Ms. Sobolev, who worked with Mr. Boensch previously at Gleacher says, "As our business grows in scope and complexity, it was imperative that we build in response to and in advance of new challenges. Having personally worked alongside Mike before, and being able to bring on Danny after a successful internship, we've watched both hit the ground running."
