Barings adds Hong Kong Investment Management

Baring Asset Management has announced the appointment of Jim Chen to the role of investment manager within the Hong Kong China Equities team. Based in Hong Kong, Chen reports to Agnes Deng, Head of Hong Kong China Equities, effective immediately.

Chen has over nine years’ experience of researching and investing in Chinese equities and will work with Agnes Deng and the rest of the team on the management of Barings’ suite of Chinese equity portfolios. Chen joins from Sumitomo Mitsui Asset Management (Hong Kong) where he managed two Greater China Funds with combined assets under management of over $1 billion. Previously he managed a number of China funds at CITIC Capital Asset Management over a four year period.
