Hermes Fund Managers has announced the appointment of Mark Rimmer as a product specialist in Government and Inflation-linked Bonds. Backed by his extensive experience in business development, Rimmer will drive third party institutional business for the Hermes Global Government Bonds boutique.

Rimmer joins Hermes from Charles Stanley’s Fixed Income sales team, where he was responsible for providing a brokering service to institutional fixed income and private client fund managers. Prior to this, he spent seven years at BlackRock as a Fixed Income product specialist, where a key aspect of his work was business development. Rimmer also comes from a distinguished fund management background, having spent over ten years as a Fixed Income fund manager at Gartmore, AON and Gulf International.

At Hermes, Rimmer will report directly to Penni Coe, head of Government and Inflation-linked Bonds and will be instrumental in further building an external client base. He will additionally assist in product development, assessing demand and creating products to match investors’ requirements.

Saker Nusseibeh, Hermes’ head of investment, commented, “Mark Rimmer’s appointment is another step in Hermes’ drive to attract third party business. Global Government Bonds are a key investment focus for Hermes and Mark will play an important role in further expanding this area of business.”
