KPMG has announced the appointment of David Vallery as a Director in its Remediation Practice, which works with financial services clients to resolve concerns related to customer advice, records or transactions.

David joins KPMG from Lloyds Banking Group where he was a Managing Director of Bank of Scotland’s Portfolio Management Services before this business was sold to Rathbone Bros plc. Prior to that, he was the chief financial officer of St Andrews Australia, the insurance and investment division of HBOS Australia.

Dan Thomas, Head of KPMG’s Remediation Practice said: “I am delighted to welcome David to the remediation practice where he will focus on enhancing the reactive and proactive services we can bring to bear on behalf of our clients. Given his strong track record and hands-on experience, he represents a major addition to our team.”

David Vallery said: “I am excited to be joining KPMG’s remediation practice and am keen to bring my skills to bear on behalf of our clients. Our team of professionals is in a strong position to help our financial services clients navigate this changing landscape.
“In this environment, where the regulator has made it clear that the issue of consumer protection is high up their agenda, it is important that firms ensure they have sound remediation processes and procedures in place. In addition, prevention is generally better than a cure when it comes to remediation.”
