London & Capital expands fixed income team

9 Mar 2010
Boutique wealth manager London & Capital has announced the appointment of Sanjay Joshi as Senior Portfolio Manager. Reporting to Chief Investment Officer, Ashok Shah, Joshi will direct the Company’s Fixed Income Team. His new role gives him responsibility for overseeing portfolio construction, asset allocation and the company’s new UCITS income funds offering.

With more than 24 years’ experience in Fixed Income portfolio management and research, Joshi’s appointment signals a return to London & Capital. He was most recently with F&C Asset Management, where he was co-managing a Fixed Income hedge fund, but he was between 2002 and 2006 a Portfolio Manager with London & Capital, supporting CIO Shah.

Joshi began his investment career as an Economist with both Baring Bros & Co and the Confederation of British Industry. He went on to become Head of Research/Chief Economist with Daiwa Europe Ltd, but soon advanced being appointed Senior Portfolio Manager and strategist for Alecta Investment Management – the largest Nordic Pension Fund, where he managed the European credit portfolio and co-managed a tactical asset allocation fund.

Commenting on the appointment, Ashok Shah, Chief Investment Officer, London & Capital, said: “We are delighted to see Sanjay return. The appointment sends a clear message to our stakeholders and underlines the ambition we have at London & Capital to maintain a strong Fixed Income presence. The asset class has always played an important role at the heart of our client portfolios, and has made a significant contribution to our long-term performance track record, delivering our clients an annualised return of some 10% per annum.

“We are excited to see Sanjay’s contribution to clients and to the Company’s investment performance this time around as he draws on his newly acquired experiences and unquestionable talent.”
