22 Feb 2010
Dalton Strategic Partnership has appointed Nick Mottram, as a partner and portfolio manager within the global equity team. Based in London, Nick will join DSP on the 1st of March and brings with him 20 years of experience in the fund management industry.

Nick joins DSP from Origin Asset Management LLP, the business he set up in 2004 with four other founding partners. At Origin he helped build the business to a profitable, institutional long only boutique with over £1bn AUM. Prior to setting up Origin, Nick was a director and head of equities in London at Investec Asset Management after spending 10 years at Schroder Investment management where he was a director and global head of research.

Commenting on the appointment, Andrew Dalton, Partner at DSP, said: “We are delighted to welcome Nick to DSP and excited by the prospect of adding his considerable experience to our global equity capabilities. He is an outstanding fund manager who brings with him an established client following, especially in the institutional space.

“What sets Nick apart is his systematic approach to the investment process. We have a number of extremely talented bottom-up regional stock pickers at DSP and so Nick’s systematic expertise will introduce a new and valuable investment approach to the firm. His track record speaks for itself having developed and run a successful equity investment process, which has outperformed since 2000 and raised significant AUM at both Origin and Investec. His wealth of experience will be invaluable as we look to grow the company and expand our investment offering.”
